Pedro left out in cold after postponement

Saturday's Game 3 between the Phillies and Rockies was postponed due to cold weather and snow, leaving the remaining three games in the NLDS series to be played Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

The extra day off would seem to be of clear benefit of the Phillies. They will now bring back Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels on regular rest in Games 4 and 5 of the series. The Rockies can and should do the same, bypassing Jason Marquis in order to throw Ubaldo Jimenez on Monday and Aaron Cook on Tuesday.

It's Pedro Martinez who figures to end up disappointed. The Phillies named him their Game 3 starter after using both Joe Blanton and J.A. Happ in relief on Thursday. Now that there's going to be two days off, rather than one, headed into Game 3, both pitchers are again in position to start and one of the two figures to trump Martinez. Despite suffering a bruised leg Thursday, Happ would seem to be the better option against the lefty heavy Colorado lineup.

I don't think Pedro cares. He's got the money that he wanted from the Phils. Anyway we can scare the embarrasment for him on the mound. The Rockies would have likely shelled him.

I don't the Phils had any intention of starting Pedro. The heard the weather, and put him in there to keep their rotation intact.

Pedro the pawn. Haha

this schedule is crap. the phillies are defending world champs and they gotta wait till 10pm sunday night to play

I think the Phillies should give Pedro a chance to let him show them what he can do. If he gets into trouble, then lift him early so you have the remainder of the game to get caught up or go ahead. Have Lee and Hamels warmed up in the bullpen just in case. I disagree with Dan when he says Pedro doesn't care. Hey, the man is a professional athlete and if he didn't care about pitching in the postseason he would be sitting somewhere with a microphone in his hand. Go Phils.

you are really just a moron.

I am a Yankee fans and I agree the Phillies fans have gottent he worst of it. This schedualing of the games by MLB or TBS or whoever it is setting it shows a total disregard for the importance of the series and the fans. The 2:00 starts weren't enough desregard for the reining champs and fans but then throw in a 10:00 start? NOT ACCEPTIBLE. MLB HAS DROPPED THE BALL BIG TIME BY ALLOWING THIS TO HAPPEN. These games will be the last games of the season for at least 3 other teams (Cardinals eliminated) fan base and they need to be broadcast with a lot more consideration for the fans.
