Blue Jays talking Halladay with Dodgers?

Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports "tweets" that the Blue Jays and Dodgers have revisited talks on a potential Roy Halladay trade. While Brown acknowledged that the two sides were talking, he later cited a source close to the two teams saying that a deal is "highly unlikely" as of now.

This comes on the heels of another report from Carrie Muskat of MLB.com, who writes that the Blue Jays initiated conversation with the Cubs in regards to Halladay. Though Chicago doesn't look like a likely landing spot, the most interesting thing to take from Muskat's piece is that Toronto "made it clear that they want to move Halladay this offseason."

New general manager Alex Anthopoulos' early aggressiveness speaks to this. He clearly has the gem of the offseason pitching market, but let's hope he has learned from J.P. Ricciardi's missteps.

Halladay is under contract for $15.75 million next season, after which he becomes a free agent.

Sorry Yankees fans. He's going to the NL.You'll have to wait a year to buy him.

Let's see. We won the World Series with our present rotation. We can wait a year and just pay the man, rather than bleed away our young talent in a trade. So, we pitch our way to our 28th championship with our rotation, and then acquire Doc to help us get our 29th.

Dad just told me that it is a good plan. Thanks for reminding me.

Hey Billybill,

You only wish YOUR team would buy him, you hippocritical ignorant moron.

No cause to get nasty about this, you by-proxy rich fathead.
I actually enjoyed watching the Yankees win this year even though I live in Toronto because they were a good team and deserved to win. But Yankee fans with your attitude remind me that the imbalance in wealth is damaging the game, and that the same sort of salary cap that has ensured competitive balance in other sports is sooner or later going to be needed in MLB.

If the playing field were level with the money situation I doubt that the Yenkees would have won 27 championships. It helps to have unlimited funds like the yankees do.

Hey Yankee fan - "Hippocrtical?" LOL Who's the moron?
