Paul Lo Duca wants to play again. Please try to contain your excitement

Paul Lo Duca was on XM radio yesterday lobbying for a spring training invite:

"I'm completely healthy. I feel unbelievable. I've been hitting the last four or five days constantly and started my workouts. I feel great. My hand feels 100 percent for the first time in a while. My hamstring and my knee finally healed after the surgery I had there. ... I want to come back and play."
You know, there are crazier things than a team taking a chance on Lo Duca. For example, maybe there's a 37 year-old, no-hit catcher who wrote personal checks to buy illegal drugs, had an affair with a teenager and was caught up in gambling allegations who doesn't have Lo Duca's infectious enthusiasm.

But maybe he'll recapture the magic of 2001--that .320/.374/.543 year? Stranger things have happened. Wait--no--stranger things have _not_ happened. My bad.

Why stop with Paul LoDuca? Now that MIchael Jackson is no longer available, why not see if Humbert Humbert is available to supervise the players' day care center?

I love it, Gator. Of course I think the over/under on people who will get the reference around here is in the low double digits.

Don't stand
Don't stand
Don't stand
So close to me

Also, speaking as a Mets fan, LoDuca was still a better catcher than Schneider has been of late. If there's room the latter, why not the former, bad behavior or not?

I always liked Paul but I guess he really made some bad decisions. However, nobody from the steroid era is going to have a world series ring taken away from them or a home run or MVP title stripped from them. His accomplishments were much smaller, but he did get to play in the Bigs. Good luck Paul.

Aw, come on Craig. Even your readers must have heard about Google.

Lo Duca's having a little trouble in the horsie business:

I'll take Stanley Kubrick trivia for $200, Craig!

Humble Hum loves Lo!

and no, I didn't have to google that. But Craig was right to question us.
